China recorded 2,747,652 copyright registrations in 2017, up 36.86% from 2,007,698 in 2016. Registrations of works totaled 2,001,966, up 25.15%, while software copyright registrations totaled 745,387, up 82.79%.
Registrations increased for games, financial software, apps, educational and medical software, Internet of Things software, geographic information software, cloud computing and information security software. Apps accounted for 154,977 registrations, or 20.79% of software registrations, the largest share. Financial software registrations numbered 38,248, up 133.95%, one of the fastest-growing categories. Geographic information software registrations numbered 17,780, up 75.78% from 2016.
