On Monday, March 19, 2012, IPDL’s gazette text search began supporting Japanese-language searches of Chinese utility models.
About 50,000 utility model abstracts were searchable at launch. During fiscal 2012, coverage was expected to expand to more than one million abstracts spanning the previous ten years. There were also plans to make Chinese invention patents searchable in Japanese.
