(The number of the trademark registration applications in China) In 2013, the trademark registration applications in China were up to 1,882,000, growing by 14.15% year on year. By the end of 2013, China has altogether 13,241,337 applications for trademark registration, 8,652,358 of which were successfully registered and 7,237,894 registrations were valid.
There were 34,667 trademark opposition applications in 2013, a year-on-year decrease of 4.58%.
In 2013, the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce examined 1,425,000 applications, with a 16.09% year-on-year growth, while the Trademark Review and Adjudication Board reviewed 144,000 cases by December 25, 2013, equivalent to the sum of the previous four years. The review cycle was reduced to 17 months.
