The Ministry of Commerce published information on completed antimonopoly reviews of concentrations of business operators. From the implementation of the Anti-Monopoly Law in 2008 to March 31, 2013, the Ministry received 698 notifications, formally accepted 627 cases and concluded 579. Of the concluded cases, 562 were approved unconditionally, accounting for 97.1%; 16 were approved subject to conditions; and one was prohibited.

Ministry officials stated that, although China’s Anti-Monopoly Law had been in force for only a relatively short time, the review procedures established by the law and its supporting regulations were broadly consistent with international practice. They stressed that the law applied fairly and equally to domestic and foreign operators.
