Courts and procuratorates established in China at the end of 2014

The Beijing Intellectual Property Court was established in November 2014, followed by the Guangzhou and Shanghai Intellectual Property Courts in December 2014. These specialised courts hear intellectual property civil and administrative cases within their jurisdiction.

The Beijing No. 4 Intermediate People's Court and Shanghai No. 3 Intermediate People's Court were established in December 2014. Their cross-regional jurisdiction covers administrative cases; major environmental and resource-protection, food and drug safety, civil and commercial cases; and cases prosecuted by the people's procuratorates.

The Fourth Branch of the Beijing People's Procuratorate supervises intellectual property litigation within the jurisdiction of the Beijing Intellectual Property Court. The Third Branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate supervises intellectual property litigation within the jurisdiction of the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court. Both were established in December 2014.
