At the end of March 2023, the Trademark Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration released "Guidelines for Accelerating Examination of Trademark Change, Transfer, Renewal and other Subsequent Applications". The scope and circumstances of such examination are shown below.
The scope of subsequent applications includes trademark change, renewal, transfer, recordal of a license, nullification, correction, and reissuance of registration certificates, etc. 2) Requests for accelerated examination may be filed in the following circumstances (1)Enterprises applying for listing; (2)Trademark pledge financing; (3)Customs record for the trademark right; (4)Investigation and handling of trademark infringement cases;
(5)Trial of trademark confirmation cases in administrative procedures; (6)Litigation cases in judicial proceedings; (7)Handling administrative licensing, administrative record, and other matters; (8)Major commercial activities, such as product placement in shopping malls, supermarkets, e-commerce platforms, and bidding; (9)Other reasonable circumstances that need accelerated examination.
