The following is the pendency and the number of office actions for PPH (including PCT-PPH) accepted by CNIPA, USPTO, JPO and KIPO. For JPO and KIPO, the upper row in the table indicates the data of National PPH, and the lower row indicates the data of PCT-PPH. Data in parentheses refer to the corresponding data for 2022.

In 2022 and 2023, the patent grant rate of PPH cases in the United States, Japan and South Korea exceeded 80%, with Japan’s PCT-PPH grant rate reaching at least 93%. China has not disclosed the grant rate of PPH cases.
From the comparison of the above Table, it can be seen that the KIPO's examination speed for PPH significantly accelerated in 2023, and the grant rate also increased significantly.
