If there are obvious errors in the trademark application documents or trademark registration documents, can they be amended?

When the error is caused by the applicant or the applicant’s agent, and the error is limited to individual textual errors such as name, address and goods, and does not involve substantive content, an application for correction can be submitted to the CNIPA, and the trademark registrant may request a corrected registration certificate. If the error is caused by a CNIPA data-entry error, the applicant can directly contact the CNIPA for correction. Errors involving substantive content, such as trademark specimen, priority information, etc., cannot be amended.
