A trademark application covers three classes, but the Trademark Office requires an amendment to the identification of goods in only one class. If the amendment is not filed or is not accepted, will the other two classes be affected?
Yes. If the applicant fails to make the required amendment within the time limit or the amendment does not meet the requirements, the Trademark Office will decline to accept the application as a whole. The other two classes will therefore also lose the original filing date. If the applicant still wishes to obtain protection in all three classes, a new application must be filed.
