What is the difference between trademark preliminary approval announcement and registration announcement in China?

Trademark preliminary approval announcement and trademark registration announcement represent different time points of the trademark registration process, and different trademark rights status. Trademark preliminary announcement refers to the announcement made by the Trademark Office after examination that the application for trademark registration is in compliance with the relevant provisions of the Trademark Law and is preliminarily allowed to be registered. The preliminary announcement does not mean that the trademark registration is successful, and the trademark applicant has not obtained the exclusive right of the trademark at this time. After the preliminary announcement, the application needs to go through a three-month opposition period. Within 3 months from the date of announcement, if someone thinks that the preliminary approval of the trademark violates the relevant provisions of the Trademark Law, he or she may file an opposition to the Trademark Office. Trademark registration announcement is the announcement issued by the Trademark Office after the approval of registration. It could be that the trademark is not opposed within 3 months from the preliminary approval announcement, and it also could be that the trademark is opposed, but the grounds of opposition are not established after the ruling. From the date of the registration announcement, the trademark registrant formally enjoys the exclusive right of the trademark.
